  • On ‘non-Special-event’ days Standard Returns provide for unlimited travel between the booked stations on the day of issue
  • When the calendar shows that Multiple Unit traction is scheduled  (that is, on ‘blue’ dates), one FREE child ticket will be issued, if required, for each adult ticket issued.

 

 

GWR175 event - Formal opening of extension – Autumn Gala

Fares for Advance Bookings for the GWR event will be £8, £4 and £20 for adults, Children and Families respectively

Fares on the day for the GWR175 event will be £9, £4.50 and £22.50.

The Railway Shop will be open for advance bookings 1130 - 1700 Monday to Friday and 1100 – 1630 on Saturdays.  Either phone 01495 792263 or call in.

  • Trains wait for 10 minutes at Blaenavon (High Level)
  • Trains wait for 4 minutes at Whistle Inn
  • Up trains wait for 5 minutes at Furnace Sidings
  • Down trains wait for 15 minutes at Furnace Sidings, when steam engines may take on water
  • Trains leave every hour on the hour from Blaenavon (High Level)
  • Generally trains run every hour throughout the day
  • Note that Santa Specials run only between Furnace Sidings and Whistle Inn

 

 

  • The return journey time is about 50 minutes
    Trains run every hour from Furnace Sidings, Blaenavon (High Level)  or Whistle Inn stations from 10.40am till 17.00pm.  Check the timetable to ensure that there is a return train after 1600. 
  • We are sorry if the stations at Furnace Sidings and Blaenavon (High Level) look like building sites at times – that’s because they are!  See HERE for all the latest news.
  • Trains run every day in August, – except Mondays and Fridays
  • Need a decent cuppa and a bite to eat?  Try our Tearoom  - open every day on which our trains run.
  • Eric’s Emporium at Furnace Sidings is open every weekend for toys, models and souvenirs.  At other times
