Easter Bunnies

 

Fares £4 adult £2 Child Family £10 ride all day!

 

  • Steam train rides using our little red engine No. 19
  • Each adult receives an Easter egg
  • Children complete our line side quiz and receive a bag of mini eggs
  • Children’s characters, entertainment, fun and games.

Teddy Bears Picnic

 

Fares £4 adult £2 Child Family £10 ride all day!

 

 

  • Steam train rides using our little red engine No. 19
  • Come and have a picnic with your teddy
  • Each child accompanied by their teddy gets a picnic
  • Children’s characters, entertainment, fun and games.

 Country and Western Weekend

  • Join us for a wild weekend on the railway
  • Ride on the Iron Mountain Railroad behind Engine Number 19

  • Cowboys taking capture or train staff
  • Country Music and fun for the whole family
  • Saloon girls take over the Whistle Inn
  • Sheriff Knock will be on the lookout for thieves and criminals

Little Engines Weekend

Blaenavon Heritage Day - events in town

Of course we rather you came to us, but if you are in the area, it’s worth popping into town where there’s a programme of all sorts of shenanigans – and, in any case, you can ride up and see us on the vintage bus.

Countryside Day - event at Garn Lakes

 

Normal fares

 

Come and ride on the train overlooking the bustling fayre alongside the Garn Lakes where there are country skills, crafts and pastimes on show. Then, enjoy a vintage bus ride around the town.

(Event organised and hosted by Torfaen County Borough Council).

 

1960’s weekend and Real Ale festival 11/12 July

 

Free Admission to the beer festival,

 

Fares: £4, £2, £10 ride  all day

 

  • Relive an era when the steam train was declining and the new diesel trains taking over Britain’s Railways.
  • Ride on a 1960’s steam  and diesel  trains
  • Relax and unwind with a pint of real ale or cider from our beer tent
  • Entertainment throughout the day
  • Trains running  from 1100 – 1900
  • Real Ale Bar
  • On the Saturday evening come along from 7pm and enjoy a 1960’s disco and bar open ‘til late.
  • Come along in 1960’s dress to be a part of the action

Diesel Gala

  • Experience the thrash of our diesel fleet on our gradients

Steam Santa Specials

 

First 4 days:

£5.50 in advance £6.50 on the day.

Last 4 days:

  • Join us for the festivities on the PBR
  • Each child visits Santa in his grotto and receives a gift
  • Mince pies and sherry for all adults
  • Steam train trips to Santa’s grotto

  • The return journey time is about 17 minutes
    Trains run every half hour from Furnace Sidings station from 11.30am till 4.30pm
  • We are sorry if Furnace Sidings looks like a building site at times – that’s because it is!  Work is going on in connection with the erection of a footbridge, and construction of a new station building.
  • Trains run every day in August – except Mondays and Fridays
  • Eric’s Emporium is open every weekend for toys, models and souvenirs
